I am a driven and motivated individual currently employed at Cisco Meraki within the Support team as a Network Support Engineer (NSE).
My current role is customer facing, and has allowed me to use my skills and knowledge to troubleshoot live and often critical network topologies and deployments. This not only includes troubleshooting Cisco Meraki MR, MS, and MX products, but also includes troubleshooting devices and technologies from other vendors.
This role has allowed me to expand and broaden my knowledge as well as gain a deep understanding in specific topics. These include Wireless deployments, troubleshooting, and site surveys, switching infrastructure best practises and troubleshooting, and “deep-dive” packet captures (SPAN/RSPAN).
My previous experience working as a CALO Network Engineer at Cisco Systems has allowed me to gain an understanding in data centre technologies and management practises – Such as Virtual machine clusters (ESXi), Enterprise traffic generators (Ixia/Agilent), power & cooling management, and physical device installations.
In addition it has given me hands-on experience with many Cisco devices and technologies such as Catalyst 6500 switches, 7600 routers, ISR, ASA, ASR, and GSR platforms, as well as Cisco VDC, VSS, Nexus VPC, and Cisco Fabric Extenders (FEX).
I have experience in Linux (specifically Debian) and currently maintain my own website. I also have an in-house ESXi deployment which powers media/file services as well as a terminal server, enabling the use of a Cisco lab environment for testing and training.
I am currently studying for my Cisco CCNP certification and expect to be fully certified by early 2016.
